Lund Elmer Sandager advises Viggo on its sale to Bolt

Lund Elmer Sandager has advised Viggo, Denmark’s leading electric taxi operator, on its strategic sale to Estonian-based Bolt, Europe’s leading shared mobility platform. With the acquisition, Bolt enters the Danish taxi market.

Founded in 2019, Viggo was Scandinavia’s first ride-hailing service based entirely on electric vehicles. With 330 electric taxis, more than 500 drivers, and over 450,000 app users, Viggo has established itself as one of Denmark’s most successful and innovative taxi services.

The acquisition marks Bolt’s entry into the Danish taxi market and is part of a broader strategy to expand its footprint in regulated European markets. Already active in Denmark through its popular e-bike rental service, Bolt is now building a multi-modal platform that allows users to seamlessly switch between e-bikes and electric taxis.

As part of this expansion, Bolt has also entered into a partnership with Taxi 4x27, adding in total over 600 vehicles to its Danish platform. The integration of Viggo and Taxi 4x27 strengthens Bolt’s offering and provides immediate value to both drivers and passengers through increased demand, technological innovation, and a continued focus on quality.

Lund Elmer Sandager, led by Partner Sebastian Rungby, advised Viggo on its sale to Bolt. The team also included Partner Michael Møller Nielsen, Partner Ulrik Bayer, Attorney Camilla Martinsen  and Attorney Camilla Ikast Jessen.
