On 2 February 2021, the Danish Parliament voted in favor of a new temporary law which incurs testing and isolation for certain foreign employees entering Denmark. Furthermore, the Parliament passed a new law that entails more stringent requirements for employees' housing when employers provide housing for the employees.

On 21 December 2020, the Danish Parliament passed a proposed law submitted by the Ministry of Immigration and Integration amending the Aliens Act. The agreement is the framework for the conditions for UK’s withdrawal from the EU, including the rights of UK citizens and their family members legally residing in an EU member state in accordance with the EU rules on free movement.

Following the recent increase in the COVID-19 infection rates, the government has introduced new measures and restrictions for migrant workers which became effective on 26 October 2020. The new restrictions require that migrant workers from high-risk countries must present a negative COVID-19 test when entering Denmark.

On 5 June, the Government and the labour market parties (unions and employer associations) agreed that the three-party agreement on temporary salary compensation should be phased out, as the COVID-19 situation begins to look better and the Danish society reopens. However, the parties agree to extend the current period so that the scheme will finally end on 29 August 2020.
