License Management
The use of software without the necessary licenses will, upon discovery, often result in expenses for purchasing the missing licenses and a "penalty fee." If the missing licenses are detected during a license audit conducted by the software producer at the company, the producer can also typically demand that the company covers the audit costs.
Many corporations organize themselves in a way where the group operates as one entity on a day-to-day basis. However, this organizational structure is rarely reflected in the software license agreements. Therefore, it is not guaranteed that a parent company is allowed to use its licenses in subsidiaries or in connection with outsourcing IT operations.
Lund Elmer Sandager's lawyers have extensive experience in providing advice on License Management and have access to IT systems that can help you ensure compliance with your license agreements.
