Lund Elmer Sandager advises the founders of HydroPen in the sale to VIKING

HydroPen – the company behind the unique HydroPen fire extinguishing equipment for container fires – has been sold to VIKING Life-Saving Equipment.

HydroPen was founded in 2016 by entrepreneurs Martin Winkel and Jesper Rosenfeldt Hansen, who in 2017 won the entrepreneurship award Danish Tech Challenge for their unique container fire extinguishing system. Following the price recognition and in the wake of several fires on board container vessels in recent years, VIKING Life-Saving Equipment contacted HydroPen and has since expanded the fire extinguishing system to several hundred vessels.

VIKING Life-Saving Equipment has now taken the next step and acquired the company as a natural part of their strategy and based on a good collaboration with Hydropen. The acquisition of the system is considered an important step in VIKING’s strategy to improve safety at sea.

 Martin Winkel and Jesper Rosenfeldt are very pleased with the sale and look forward to following HydroPen’s further journey.
