COVID-19: Temporary three-party pay compensation agreement extended
On 20 December 2021, the Government and the social partners entered into a new three-party agreement extending the current compensation scheme. The agreement has been made based on the tightened and extended restrictions that apply until and including 31 January 2022 and are intended to help the companies that suffer the most.

COVID-19: New temporary three-party agreement on pay compensation and work-sharing in suffering companies
The Government and the social partners have entered into a three-party agreement on the extension of the temporary work-sharing scheme and the scheme for pay compensation for forcibly closed companies as a result of Covid-19. In addition, companies that have been afflicted by the corona crisis can now be compensated again.

COVID-19: Companies can make use of the general compensation schemes again
On 10 December 2021, several new restrictions took effect as a result of the Covid-19 development in Denmark. The new restrictions involve closing the night life, including closing time at midnight for restaurants and restrictions on larger concerts and the like. Companies affected by the restrictions will now get some help as the general compensation schemes are reintroduced.

Three party agreement gives companies and parents the opportunity for early reimbursement in the event of illness due to Covid-19
On 23 November, the Government and the social partners (FH, DA, AC, KL and the Danish Regions) made an agreement which entails that companies can be reimbursed for sick pay from the first day of illness if an employee is infected with the coronavirus. In addition, parents that are allowed stay at home with their children send home due to Covid-19, have the right to receive maternity pay. You can get an overview of the two temporary schemes here.

The Danish Data Protection Agency propose for large GDPR fines
During the summer of 2021, the Danish Data Protection Agency has imposed fines on three public authorities and two private companies in the range of DKK 150,000 – 600,000 for violating the GDPR legislation.
